Bhubaneswar, June 19, Crowds have been flocking to Orissa’s Puri beach to see a 15-feet long sand sculpture of a pig and a message on swine flu by renowned artist Sudarsan Patnaik.

Patnaik, who created the image with the help of his students, on the golden beach has depicted the pig wearing a mask with the message “Beware of swine flu”. The sculpture was put on display late Thursday on the beach in Puri, 56 km from the state capital Bhubaneswar.
“Hundreds of tourists, both foreign and domestic, visited the sculpture early (Friday) morning and praised our effort. I created this image to create awareness among them and others,” Patnaik told IANS.
Though no swine flu cases have been reported in the state yet, Orissa sounded an alert about a fortnight ago.
Nine people, including a 12-year-old boy, were Thursday confirmed to have contracted the swine flu virus in India, taking the total number of people infected with influenza A (H1N1) in the country to 44.
